On Saturday evening, September 11, Lewis earned yet another top-ten GNC Twins finish with an eighth place and now sits in tenth in the entire AMA Pro GNC series.
Lewis is competing in both the Singles (450cc motocross-based race bikes) and Twins (650cc – 1200cc race bikes) events for the first time in his young career. Last year, he only committed to the Singles races before suffering an injury. With the support of Scott Powersports, DR.D,Custom Axis Racing Shocks, FLUIDYNE and his other sponsors, Lewis was able to put together a program to compete in all four types of AMA Pro GNC events: short track, TT, half-mile and mile.
Prior to the Canterbury Park Mile, Lewis competed in the traditional Labor Day Weekend Springfield Mile in Illinois. There he raced with the series veterans to a ninth-place finish which was his first top-ten ever in a Mile race and only his second top-ten in an AMA Pro GNC Twins event.
